How much in savings you need for England visa?
I am a British citizen, my wife from Vietnam is going to apply for visa to come back to England. Everything we have, but one of the fields is that you need to show that you don’t need the use of public funds. Does anyone know how much this might be? How much you think in savings you need to show, or is it no minimum and case by case scenerio. Thanks to everyone which answers.
I am British married to a US citizen we live here in the UK. Your wife needs to get forms from the British Embassy for an entry clearance visa. These cost around £400 it will give her a visa for 2 years to live in the UK but she will not be entitled to any public funds i.e. Any UK benefits. As your wife she will be entitled to free medical care i.e. doctors or hospital. After a 2 year qualifying period you have to prove that you have lived together as man and wife at the same address so keep lots of paper evidence. Then she can apply for residency which will cost her £500 (last years rate). During that two years she needs to find a job so suggests she does temp work so she can apply for a N.I. number. You also have to prove to the authorities to get her entry clearance visa that you can financially support her. Bank statements, payslips etc… so unless you are working you might find it difficult.
Once she gets her residency she will be entitled to all the benefits you get. Hope that helps. Email me if you want more info.
